The STHA is pleased to announce the return of our Learn to Skate Program for 2017!  Please see the details below.

LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM

The Learn to Skate program is an introductory program designed to give children the skills necessary to move forward through the STHA, eventually transitioning from LTS to the 8U Red/White/Blue Program and ultimately to our House and/or Travel Divisions.

Learn to Skate will begin in October and is for boys and girls who would like to learn the fundamental skills of ice skating. The LTS program will be designed to develop strong basic skating skills (balance, stride, edges and stopping) as an introductory program for children interested in hockey. No previous skating experience is necessary.  The goal of each participant in the program should be to learn, to have fun, and to increase their confidence each time they step on the ice.

Children will be divided each session according to ability. During the sessions the groups will be working on developing various skills as they work their way through the curriculum.

Ages: We recommend a minimum age of 4. Skaters younger than 4 may register at their parent's discretion.

Times/Location(s): The program will run for 10 weeks, on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30am, beginning Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Ice House Sports Complex, 614 River Road, Binghamton, 13901. The last scheduled session will be Sunday, December 3, 2017.  Some dates/times may change depending on the NA3HL Jr. Senators game schedule.
