Binghamton Pond Festival Youth Weekend

On January 20-21, 2018 the Binghamton Pond Festival is hosting its first youth outdoor hockey weekend on their new mechanically refrigerated outdoor ice surface at Chenango Valley State Park.

Games will be played 4-on-4 with no goalies, although goalies are welcome to dress in normal player gear and skate out as a ‎regular player on the team.

ALL games, regardless of age level, will be played non-check‎.
Each game consists of two 20 minute halves.
Each team will play 3 games.
There will also be various other winter family activities available including Animal Adventure, live music, and more.

This weekend event is a USA Hockey sanctioned event (NYT1718182A), and that means all players must be registered with USA Hockey, although they are NOT required to play on their regular season team.

Teams may consist of between 6 and 16 players, but no more than 12 players per team is recommended so that all players get sufficient ice time.

There are multiple youth divisions: an 8U division , a 10U + 12U combo division, and a 14U + 16U combo division. The overlap in age for divisions is meant so friends or relatives ‎that do not normally have the opportunity to play together may do so in this event.

The cost of entry is $400 per team.

The Binghamton Pond Festival is happy to share that United Health Services has graciously offered to sponsor the Southern Tier Hockey Association's House players.

Teams that are comprised of players registered in the STHA's 2017-2018 House program will be eligible for a $200 discount off of their team entry fee. Additionally, these discount teams will be permitted to have up to two travel players on them if they chose to‎ so that friends may play together even if they are normally on different teams.

Any and all other teams are welcome to partake, but will not be eligible for the UHS sponsorship.
