The STHA is proud to announce Matt Curry as the 8U Select Coach for this season!  The goal of 8U Selects is to give kids playing in 8U House the opportunity to get additional, highly structured ice time and exposure to competitive games/tournaments in a fun, learning environment.  While anyone is encouraged to tryout, the team will be selected based upon a competitive tryout.

Below is a summary of the plan for the 8U Select Season:

• Hold tryouts and select a team of 20 kids who will all practice together and form two teams for games/tournaments.
• One half-ice practice/week (~16 total) starting the week of 18 November.  Practice will be on a weeknight, mainly on Friday.
• Three home and three away games spread out through the season – non-interference with 8U house schedule
• Three tournaments – two will be out of town (Target 1 in February and 1 in March), and one will be the 8U tournament we are hosting in January
• Cost - $300 covers practice ice, 3 home/away games, jerseys & socks (home and away)
  • Does not cover tournaments, assume fundraising will cover tournaments

Tryout dates for the team are as follows:

• Friday, November 15th – 5:45PM SBIC
• Sunday, November 17th – 9:00AM IHSC
• Tryout cost - $25 (covers both tryouts)
• Please email Greg Laubisch at glaubisch@hotmail.com to register your child for the tryout.  Payment will be collected on Friday night prior to the first tryout.
• Players are encouraged to attend both tryouts, but minimally need to attend one of the two sessions. If for some reason your child cannot attend either session but still want to be considered for the team, please notify Greg Laubisch.
