Pierre Laganiere coached in the STHA for about 20 years! Pierre played hockey in the AHL with the Providence Reds (1973 - 1976) and Broome Dusters (1976 - 1979).

Q: What were some of your favorite coaching moments?
Playing in and winning the state title and going to the nationals. Coaching so many terrific kids and the lasting relationships made with the kids and with the parents.

Q: What was one of your favorite hockey moments from when you played?
When I first made the Jr A team in Ville de la Baie, Quebec when I was 16 and winning the league championships that year in double overtime of Game 7. That gave us the opportunity to play in the Memorial Cup against Guy LaFleur.

Q: What advice would you give to young hockey players?
Wherever hockey takes you, the lessons you learn on the ice will serve you well: work ethic, respect, discipline, and responsibility to your team.

Q: What advice would you give to hockey parents?
Encourage your child to enjoy the game and their teammates and do their best on and off the ice. If your child has talent, desire and a work ethic, it will take care of itself. Enjoy the journey, you will create lifetime memories and friendships.
