Eric Kelly started playing in the STHA at the age of 2 (Atoms) and went on to play as a defenseman in the NAHL (1994- 1997), in the UHL for several seasons - including two seasons with the B.C. Icemen (1997-1999), and two seasons in the ECHL.

Eric has coached extensively in the STHA and the league is lucky to have his experience and expertise helping coach our teams.

Check out this Q and A with former STHA player and now, STHA coach Eric Kelly.

Q: What made you want to start playing hockey and at what age did you start playing?
I started playing at age 2/Atoms and my older brother played and the excitement of the game enticed my curiosity.

Q: What has been your favorite hockey moment?
Becoming a coach myself and being able to view the knowledge passed on to the new players.

Q: Do you have any game day superstitions or rituals?
Not a superstitious person.

Q: What advice you would share with youth hockey players?
Soak in every bit of knowledge from the coaches and be creative when given the opportunity.

Q: What advice can you share with hockey parents?
Let your kids fall, let them get themselves up and inspire them to be the best teammate they can be. This is a team sport and the puck move faster than any human could ever move.
