Q: What were your favorite coaching moments?

A: Favorite coaching moments in the STHA - Probably seeing so many kids starting to grow into young adulthood thru the trials and tribulations the game delivers.

Favorite BCC coaching moments - Seeing the program develop into competitiveness over 10 years. Seeing so many strong friendships develop amongst the players. Coaching at a higher education institution I was able to witness so many student athletes working towards a degree program which would have a bearing on the rest of their lives.

Q: What advice would you give to young hockey players?

A: Advice for young hockey players - Elite hockey players are ALWAYS the most skilled skaters so SKATE, SKATE, SKATE! Be a good teammate, be coachable and by all means HAVE FUN!

Q: What advice would you give to hockey coaches?

A: Advice to youth hockey coaches - Don’t underestimate and take for granted the opportunities you have to be a positive influence to a young person. Show up for practices and games with positive enthusiasm… it’s contagious. Be prepared every time you come to the rink… Have a plan that is thought out prior to getting there. Utilize small area games and drills that help develop fundamental skills. Keep the players active and engaged thru competitiveness. At the end of the day, you are helping to develop Life Skills in a young person.
