The STHA is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 "Between the Pipes" Fund awards.  All applications must be received by 11:59 pm Friday, September 15, 2023 to be considered for the award.  Award recipients will be notified the week of September 18th.

The Between the Pipes Fund was established in 2007 to benefit members of the greater Binghamton area youth ice hockey community and to memorialize Bill Pfeiffer as a long-term supporter of youth hockey in the greater Binghamton area. Since its inception, the STHA Between the Pipes Fund has provided scholarships to over 110 families totaling more than $50,000.

The fund provides assistance with the program fees associated with each age group, based on USA Hockey age classifications. The fund benefits the following divisions, regardless of the program of participation (house or travel league): 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U. If awarded, the fund makes the payment directly to the STHA to offset the recipient’s program fees.

Any award, if made, may be full or partial, depending on several factors including demonstration of need, previous awards, number of applicants, and available funding. Interested applicants may apply provided they meet the requirements/guidelines.
