THANK YOU, STHA Coaches and Sponsors, for the commitment, dedication, support and contributions you provided to the STHA and more importantly, the STHA Players.

A special THANK YOU to the Binghamton Devils and Jack Sherman Toyota for the continued commitment, dedication, support and contributions you have provided to the STHA.

The following awards were announced at the STHA End-of-Season Celebration at the Binghamoton Devils game on Sunday, March 25, 2018:

Don Franck Award - Russ Carman

Awarded to an individual that has served for ten or more years in the STHA as a board member, coach, sponsor, etc. Don Franck is one of the original founders of the STHA, which started at Quaker Lake. He played and coached in the STHA and also served on the Board.

The STHA is proud to present this year’s Don Franck Award to Russ Carman.  As a goalie coach, Russ has helped countless goalies to learn positioning and angles, and he assists the STHA travel and house teams in practices and during skills clinics.  His attitude and smile are infectious, and he has been an invaluable resource for the STHA and their members.

Ramo Folli Award - Joe Roberto

Awarded to an individual that has served for five or more years in the STHA as a board member, coach, sponsor, etc. Ramo Folli was also instrumental in forming the STHA and worked in many capacities for the organization.

The STHA is proud to present this year’s Ramo Folli award to Joe Roberto.  Back in his younger days, Joe played for the Jr. Whalers and Jr. Rangers travel teams, and now serves as both a coach and Board member in the organization.   Joe has been instrumental in the success of the STHA’s Learn to Skate program, and can always be counted on to assist on ice with Try Hockey events and tryouts.

Cliff Hunter Award - Kyle Houser

Awarded to the Coach of the Year. This goes to a coach who exemplifies the true meaning of coaching in all aspects of the game. Coaching ability, team spirit, leadership, rapport with parents and players are all qualities of this recipient. Cliff Hunter was an exceptional coach in the STHA who exhibited all of the mentioned qualities of a coach for years in the STHA.

The STHA is proud to present this year’s Cliff Hunter award to Kyle Houser.  Kyle stepped up to fill a coaching need for the STHA’s 8U Blue Travel team, and was able to lead a very young group of players to a fantastic season, in part by teaching them that it wasn’t the size of the player that mattered, but the heart.
